SPH Media’s Malay-language publication Berita Harian (BH) recently hosted its largest scale engagement booth to date, BHazar Berita Harian, with entertaining performances, demonstrations, live podcasts, and a display of BH’s product offerings to reach out to its younger audience.
Mr Saat A Rahman, Editor, Berita Harian said: "BHazar Berita Harian is a platform for us to introduce and showcase Berita Harian products to our wider audience, especially the young. We are heartened to see many people especially youths and ministers coming to our booth."
Minister for National Development & Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration Mr Desmond Lee visited the booth and took part in a Buka Puasa session with the Muslim community together with SPH Media CEO, Ms Teo Lay Lim and the Berita Harian team. Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Ms Grace Fu also dropped by the booth during her visit to Wisma Geylang Serai.
BHazar Berita Harian also hosted live podcast sessions of BH’s popular podcast programme, #NoTapis, which were received warmly by the crowd. Each podcast was streamed live across Berita Harian's social media channels on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. The podcasts are available on Berita Harian's website and Spotify channel as well.
The first podcast on finance, sponsored by Maybank Singapore, touched on How to grow your Wealth with Maybank Singapore's Offshore Business Head (Premier), Community Financial Services, Mr Abdul Halim Abdul Rashid.
Two other podcast sessions were held live, featuring Nurul Suhaila Mohd Saiful, Pencak Silat World Champion and SEA Games Gold Medalist 2022, who shared about the sacrifices required to be a world champion, and spiritual speaker Ustazah Liyana Musfirah, who discussed Ramadan in relation to mental health.
A meet and greet with BH reporters, including seasoned journalist Farid Hamzah and the host of BH’s video series for youths, Orang Muda Gitew (OMG), Dahlia Zulkifli, was also well received by BHazar Berita Harian guests.
