Car sales figures up 13.5% at this year’s Cars@Expo

High COE prices didn’t deter serious car buyers who took advantage of exclusive deals on offer at this edition of Cars@Expo. Touted as the biggest car show in Singapore, it netted a 13.5% increase in car sales compared to the previous year’s event held in August. 

Held on 15-16 Apr at Halls 3B & 4 in Singapore Expo, the 2-day event saw more car units sold this round for a total car sales figure of over $100 million.

A holistic publicity campaign across print, digital, radio, and out-of-home generated awareness and buzz about the show, while social media posts that shared promos and deals on the FB page were updated live during the event days. Live outdoor broadcasts by SPH Media’s radio stations, Kiss 92 and ONE FM 91.3 livened up the atmosphere at the event halls.

The biannual automotive show featured 34 brands including authorised distributors, pre-owned car dealerships, car accessories, and more. 

Cars ranging from the new Honda Jazz Crosstar e:HEV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the Lexus RX 350h to the Tesla Model Y, BMW X1 sDrive16i xLine, Audi Q3 1.5 TFSI S tronic, and Skoda Octavia were on display, while brands such as Polestar presold its Polestar 2 at an attractive discount. 

Apart from attractive deals for motoring accessories, brand new and pre-owned cars, Cars@Expo also served as a one-stop event that provides essential information for car buyers with varying motoring needs.

One of the event’s highlights was the “School of EV” booth, where visitors could find out all they need to know about electric vehicle ownership, available rebates and incentives, Singapore's plans to be EV-ready, and how they could benefit from owning an EV. 

More than $80,000 worth of freebies were available throughout the show. The first 1,000 visitors each day received a limited edition Cars@Expo premium. Visitors who made a car booking during the show were eligible to receive up to $500 of SPC vouchers. SpeedyCare car-servicing vouchers worth $115 each were also given to the first 100 buyers of pre-owned cars. SPC is Cars@Expo's Official Fuel & Lubricant Partner. 

Based on the visitors’ survey, 71% were first-time visitors and 99% of the visitors were satisfied with the event.
